Peter Meredith's family lived in Chile, Guatemala, Brazil, Mozambique and Portugal during his childhood years due to his father's work with the Shell oil company. As he grew older, Meredith attended boarding school in England and returned to his family for holidays. He later graduated from university in England where he worked before moving to Australia. Meredith has worked as a journalist and author with a particular interest in science and the environment.
