BiographyHistory

Pino Sollazzo was born in San Martino in the province of Reggio Calabria, Italy, and emigrated to Melbourne in 1977. His collection of poetry, Jenko, won a Gold Medal in Italy for writer of the year and his novel, Il Capolavoro del Secolo, won an award for Best New Writer of the Year. His work has been read on the Italian language programs of Radio 3CR in 1986, Radio 3RRR in 1987 and 3EA in 1988, and he has read at the Italian Cultural Institute. His poetry has been published in the anthology, Voci Nostre (1979), and in the newspapers La Fiamma and Il Mondo.
