BiographyHistory

Jorge Salavert studied English Philology in Spain and collaborated in the translation of several of Shakespeare's works into Spanish at the Shakespeare Institute of Valencia. Since migrating to Australia he has worked as a teacher of Spanish and as a translator and interpreter. He was the only full-time Spanish translator at the Sydney Olympic Games. Salavert has also translated a sonnet by 17th century Spanish poet, Francisco de Quevedo. In 2009 he was based in the ACT, employed at ANU.
