BiographyHistory

A linguist with a particular interest in European literature, history and art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Brodsky spent some time in Australia with her family in the late 1940s. Her autobiography, In Pursuit of a Dream, about her time in Australia, is the third in a series of memoirs. The first, Smoke Signals : From Eminence to Exile (1997), describing life of Ukrainian refugees in pre-war Berlin, and the second, A Fragile Identity: Survival in Nazi-Occupied Belgium (1998) were published by Radcliffe Press.
