The eighth and last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mukarram Jah was heir to an extraordinarily wealthy Indian dynasty. During the early 1970s, Jah visited Australia and subsequently purchased Murchison House sheep station which was located 160 kilometres from Geraldton (Western Australia). As a result, Jah remained settled in Western Australia and pursued the unlikely undertaking of station life in the remote outback. During the following two decades Jah lost the vast family fortune he had inherited and in 1996 relocated to Turkey, the homeland of his mother.
