Mingxian Su received a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Griffith University and has specialised in Asian Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, Chinese Studies, and Overseas Chinese History. He has taught and researched at Jinan University, Zhongshan University, Griffith University, the University of Southern Queensland, Queensland University of Technology and the University of Queensland.
