BiographyHistory

Anna Eglitis is an artist who was born in Fiji and has lived and worked in Cairns, Queensland. She has worked with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from the Visual Arts Course at Cairns TAFE, assisting them to rediscover their culture through contemporary artwork. Eglitis collaborated with Warren Brim on the book Creatures of the Rainforest, which shows both the Aboriginal and European interpretation of the flora and fauna of the Djabugay Country of North Queensland. The text is in English and Djabugay. Creatures of the Rainforest was shortlisted for the CBCA Eve Pownall Award for Information Books in 2006.
