BiographyHistory

Journalist, editor, theatre critic, manager.

The founding editor of Martin Brennan's Australian Variety and Show World magazine, Harry Kitching (aka 'Kitch') established a high-profile career during the heyday of Australian variety entertainment as a vaudeville critic.

Following the demise of Harry Clay's organisation in the late 1920s, Kitching took a lease on the Bridge Theatre (Newtown), presenting revues there under the direction of both his wife, Amy Rochelle and his then business partner, Stan Foley.
