BiographyHistory

Ian Turner was a political activist and a historian. Following service in WWII, he resumed his studies at the University of Melbourne, where he studied history and politics under Manning Clark, and embraced Marxism. Turner worked at various jobs, and went on to obtain a PhD from the Australian National University. He later taught history at the University of Adelaide and Monash University.
