George Thomas Graham came to Australia in November 1827 with his father, James Graham, to work for the Australian Agricultural Company. He became a clerk in the office of the Sydney Gazette, and edited that paper from June to October 1832.
He and Reverend Henry Carmichael had their contracts cancelled due to an item published in the Gazette about the size of salaries paid to government officials. Graham won an action against the Gazette for his dismissal.
