Festival Fatale is a two-day women’s theatre festival, which aims to produce and create two days of ground-breaking, contemporary and vibrant feminist theatre for audiences in Sydney.
Highlights include a staging of Patricia Cornelius' AWGIE-winning SLUT, the story of an adolescent girl navigating the treacherous waters of contemporary sexuality, writer-performer and provocateur Candy Bowers' Australian Booty, and the Sydney premiere of Irish writer Finn O'Branagain's Selkie, a play inspired by Celtic mythology.
The readings program features new work by playwrights Katie Pollock, Tee O'Neill and Dana McMillan. The cabaret program, to be presented in the Eternity's foyer, includes provoking showcases by performing artists including Sarah Gaul, Hannah Reilly and Eliza Reilly, Billie Rose and Marlena Rosenthal.
Also performing is Toy Choir, a group of young women in their teens, playing original songs to a mass ukulele backing. Its director is Danielle O'Keefe.
Hosted by the Eternity Playhouse, Darlinghurst 29-30 October 2016.
