Writing and Critical Theory (CACW232)
Semester 2 / 2016

Description

This subject examines the interactions between writing practice and the theories on reading and writing that emerged in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. These theories dissect the process and production of writing: they offer models for understanding language, structure and reading of texts, but also challenge the writer as the final authority of a text. In this subject you will consider the implications of these theories in writing practices: you will unpack the key ideas, evaluate their efficacy, and apply the ideas to specific creative texts, including your own.
