BiographyHistory

Alice Eather (Alice Pearl Daiguma Eather) was an Indigenous activist, primary school teacher and poet. Though born in Brisbane, Alice lived and worked in Maningrida, Arnhem Land. She was the first Ndjebbana-speaking Aboriginal educator, and was a bilingual primary school teacher.

Alice was a slam poet. Her poem Yúya Karrabúra appeared in a chapter of the same name in Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia in 2018.

Alice was also an environmental activist, and was awarded the NT Young Achievers Environment Award in 2014.
