Notes

  • Although produced for radio and broadcast almost two months before it was first given a live theatrical performance, this radio version was likely abridged by Shepherd from her largely completed stage script.
  • A broadcast on 19 April 1944 was the first play production from the ABC's new Newcastle station: it was produced by ABC's then director of drama, F.D. Clewlow, who was in Newcastle particularly for that purpose.
