Piper Mules was one of ten students from Years 4, 5, and 6 selected to take part in a Writer in Residence program organised by The Essington School, Darwin, in 2016. Her story The Quiet Lorikeet, with illustrations by Darwin-based artist Joan Andropov was later published as a picture book by the school.
