BiographyHistory

ELK Publishing is an independent publishing house that strives to provide families, schools and teachers with direct access to unique and exceptional quality in children's and educational literature.

Author, artist, dancer and teacher, Selina Kucks (aka Sketa) established ELK Publishing while living in Korea in 2009. The company's first release was Sketa's fantasy novel, The Parchment. The following year it published a Korean language edition, with the translation undertaken by Kucks (with help from a friend). After returning to Australia in 2012 Kucks based ELK Publishing in Toowoomba, Queensland, where it now operates as an imprint under the Sketa Oz brand.

The Australian-based ELK imprint released its debut children's book, In the Lettuce Patch, in 2014. It is first of a series of five Possum Tales stories. The company has also released a number of other works, including The Parchment Tale Unfolds (2012), the second in a proposed Parchment Tale series.
