Barbara Tunbridge provides brief insight into Dorothy Blewett's background as an emerging playwright, her current fulltime employment and The First Joanna as both a stage and radio play.
Notes
The First Joanna was given its Australian radio and stage premieres in early 1948 (January and March respectively). Many of the newspaper articles written about the play during this period are neither explicitaly about one version nor the other. This article is similarly about the the play as an expression rather than as a specific manifestation (production or version).
