BiographyHistory

Partly responsible for creating the most vibrant contemporary poetry scene in Tasmania, Lucinda Shannon is a spoken word artist, writer and musician based in Launceston. Her poetry and stories have appeared in the 40 Degrees South Short Story compilation and Upswell Magazine. In 2013 she founded 'Slamduggery,' the first monthly spoken word slam in Launceston. Shannon performs her own spoken word in Tasmania and on the Australian mainland. Her music projects also feed into her literary work.

Shannon's short story, 'The Deal the Deal the Deal' was included in the 2016 anthology The Third Script : Stories from Iran, Tasmania and the UK.
