Former pilot (and holder of the DFC from World War II), Kenneth Hudson-Youdale adapted Robert S. Close's controversial novel Love Me Sailor (for which Close was jailed) to the stage in 1949.
Hudson-Youdale was awarded an AM in the 2013 Australia Day Honours List, for 'significant service to the community, particularly as an advocate for people affected by thalidomide'.
