Brisbane radio station 4BK planned a series of radio plays for 1935, including Australian and international works: they chose to open the series with work by a Queensland writer, with this George Landen Dann play, which (as a stage play) had won the most recent Brisbane Eisteddfod.
Contemporary newspapers and radio guides give numerous forms of the title, all roughly similar: 'The Day of Roses', 'The Days of the Roses', or simply 'Days of Roses'.
