BiographyHistory

ABC International Development (ABC ID) is the international development branch of Australia’s national public broadcaster, the Australia Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Although based in Melbourne, Australia, ABC ID partners with media, civil society and government agencies, supporting them to collectively engage on issues affecting their communities. It offers advice and expertise in the Asia-Pacific region and globally, with specialist staff in Australia, Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and Myanmar. The organisation's work reflects the ABC’s strengths in public broadcasting, educational broadcasting, emergency broadcasting, rural/agricultural broadcasting and organisational management and its commitment to regional relationships, particularly as an active member of Asia-Pacific and global media bodies.
