An impoverished baronet inherits a farm and determines to make it a going concern, despite his ignorance of farming, the gentle mockery of the locals, and the covetousness of a neighbour, who wants the land, and with whose daughter the baronet falls in love.

Notes

  • The Man Who Won is the title under which the film was released in the US.
  • A number of sources, including IMDB, indicate that this work is adapted from a novel by Dion Titheradge called Mr Bill the Conqueror. To date, no such novel has been traced, and there is no firm evidence that the film is an adaptation.
