'When he was 10, illustrator and cartoonist Stephen Stanley was sent to a school in Liverpool which specialised in teaching science. Six years later, when he migrated to Adelaide with his family, he spent half a term at Croydon Tech before setting off to finally fulfil his artistic ambitions. Stanley is an artist living in Whyalla and the illustrator of The Advertiser and Sunday Mail ’s progressive book, Escape From Thorngate Hall, part of our Raise a Reader literacy and numeracy campaign. Here he shares his story about his life of drawing.'
