An interdisciplinary environmental humanities scholar, with a PhD in environmental history, Lilian Pearce's work straddles history, geography, and politics. In 2025, she was the recipient of the P.F. Rowland Manuscript Development Grant from James Cook University's Foundation for Australian Literary Studies, to complete the work Toxic Legacies.
