BiographyHistory

Evelyn Patuawa-Nathan is a Maori writer, who lived in Europe and Asia before settling in Sydney, Australia. She is known as the third female writer of Maori origin to have been published, her first collection of poems, Opening Doors, was published in 1979.

She has worked as a teacher and tutor in a number of women's prisons. (Source: Wikipedia website)
