Two brothers escape the killing of five Australian journalists in Timor in 1975, but, two years later, they are still dealing with the after-effects of the trauma.
Note on authorship:
Multiple sources indicate that this film was based on Roger Ward's novel Reflex. However, it appears that Reflex, while originally written as a novel, was sold for the film adaptation without being independently published as a novel. As such, this work is not treated as an adaptation.
Influences:
Influenced by the life and disappearance of Sean Flynn (son of Errol Flynn), who was a photojournalist during the Vietnam war and disappeared in 1970 on a foray into Cambodia. The film also includes a re-enactment of the death of the Balibo Five in 1975.
