BiographyHistory

Jonathan O'Brien is a Brisbane-based writer, educator, and creative freelancer, described as 'a fresh and exciting voice' by The Guardian Australia. His fiction and research has won several awards, including the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Young and Emerging Artists Fellowship (2020) and the State Library of Queensland Young Writers Award (2017). He is a sessional academic at QUT, a publisher at Pseudonaja Group, and Brisbane Writers Festival's reigning Literary Death Match champion. He is the co-creator of The Beige Index, which assesses diversity in film.
