Patricia Boero recibe Alumni Award, single work column

The column reports on Patricia Boero receiving an award from the Alumni Association of the University of New South Wales. Boero, who had graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, First Class Honours, was recognised for her work with the Hispanic migrant community, including cultural work such as the founding of the theatre group 'Mascara', the organisation of poetry recitals and the presentation of radio programs on Latin American literature, as well as her work with migrant assistance programs.

The event was held at the Spanish Club of Sydney and the column also mentions José Barroso, who gave a musical recital, and Gabriela Cabral, who received the Schoolgirl of the Year Award and a NSW Public Speaking Award.

Brillante debut de Hispania, single work column

This article reports on the debut performance of the theatre group 'Hispania', comprised of Spanish language students at the University of New South Wales and directed by Patricia Boero and John Brotherton. Their opening performance consisted of three pieces, the first performed by José Barroso, Luis Oliviera, Walter González and Gabriela Cabral. The second piece, 'Asesinato de X' was written by Argentinian students in 1969; however, the author writes that the circumstances could apply, at the time of this performance, to Uruguay or Chile or many other countries. The third piece was 'Pic-Nic' an absurdist drama by Fernando Arrabal.
