BiographyHistory

Nyilyari Tjapangati was born at Papunya, a settlement west of Alice Springs, Northern Territory. He began painting in his thirties, and in 2004 became a full-time artist for the Papunya Tula Artists collective, following in his father's footstep Pinta Pinta Tjapapangka who painted from the early 1970s.
