BiographyHistory

Pukarlyi Milly Kelly was born at Jilakurru (Well 17), long the Canning Stock Route, Western Australia. 'Her father's Country ranged from Jilakurru to Puntawarri, and Pukarlyi walked this Country as a child. Eventually her mother brought her in to the ration station, at old Jigalong on the rabbit-proof fence, to look for their extended family. There Pukarlyi met her husband, Pompey Charlie, and they worked on stations together for many years.' (Source: National Museum of Australia website)
