'This latest work is described as a salty, satiric modern version of the parable of the prodigal son set in present-day Glasgow, and played by the delightfully aimless Windlestraw family. George, the youngest son, failing in examinations, sets out to face the hard world alone, and, although he "fell in with wicked persons and learned sinful ways," he managed to bring home a fortune that lifted the shadow of bankruptcy from the family. But instead of the fatted calf, George received a black eye.
