AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'After a difficult separation, Jan Bauer goes soul searching in the Australian desert. His plan is to walk along the “Lhere pirnte”, The Salty River. A trip that is 450 kilometres long that will take him through the barren, red-hot heart of Australia. With each step through this strange, harsh, and yet beautiful landscape, he slowly lets go of the pain that has been weighing him down. The situation changes when Jan meets a French hiker who joins him on his journey. Slowly but surely, like the flow of the salty river, the two desert travelers grow closer together.

'The Salty River, the graphic novel debut by Hamburg-based illustrator and animation filmmaker Jan Bauer, tells a tender and unexpected love story set against a beautifully illustrated spectacular natural scenery.' (Publication summary)
