AbstractHistoryArchive Description

In his first column in this, the first issue of El Expreso, John Brotherton introduces himself and offers a defence of his position as an English migrant contributing to a Spanish-language newspaper in Sydney. In a constructed dialogue, two commentators note that migrants from England such as Brotherton as almost as 'woggie' as Hispanic-Australians, though no-one notices ['Te das cuenta que son casi tan 'woggies' como nosotros, pero nadie se fija'].
