Australian speculative-fiction writer.
Before writing, Napper worked in international development, with a particular specialisation in education, and enabling ethnic minority children in remote areas to access primary school. For this work, he has lived in Mongolia, Laos, and Vietnam, and worked across Southeast Asia and East Asia.
His short fiction has been published in a variety of periodicals, including Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine, Interzone, Grimdark Magazine, Galaxy's Edge, Lontar, and anthologies. Works have been translated into French, German, and Hebrew, and nominated for Aurealis and Ditmar Awards.
In 2016, Napper began a PhD with a focus on the literature of Southeast and East Asia.
