Boland closes his article on Paraguayan literature with references to Australian - Paraguayan connections, including that of Mary Gilmore, who travelled to Paraguay with the 'New Australia' movement, and Paraguayan-born descendants of the movement, such as anthropogist Leon Cadogan and comic book writer and graphic artist Robin Wood.
