An American pop star appears in an Australian theatrical production (The Green Year Passes) as a means of kickstarting an acting career.

This was to have been Boulevard Films' first production, but a dispute over creative control with the Burrowes Film group (who had assisted in raising the film's budget) ended in Burrowes buying Boulevard Films out of the film. (See David Stratton's The Avocado Plantation).
