Radio play.
Broadcast on ABC radio on 6 October 1957, from 8pm.
Producer: Leslie Rees.
Cast members: Brian Anderson (Arch Malone, an aeroplane pilot), Joe McCormick (Glen Blaker, an American), Madi Hedd (Beryl, his Australian wife), Bruce Beeby (Bill Cunningham, an expert diver and trawler owner), John Tate (Old 'Tom,' another trawler owner), and Keith Buckley (Ahmed, an Indonesian diver).
The play was later broadcast by the BBC, who made the following note in the Radio Times listing:
BBC programmes designed primarily for the United Kingdom are frequently shared by Commonwealth listeners either in direct transmission or by means of special transcriptions. Tonight's play, produced in the studios of the Australian Broadcasting Commission with an all-Australian cast, reverses this friendly flow of invisible ' exports and gives listeners at home a rare opportunity of comparing the work being done in the field of radio drama by our overseas friends. This recorded programme is being broadcast in exactly the form in which the play was originally presented to listeners in Australia.
