BiographyHistory

Vincenzo Bellini was an Italian composer sometimes referred to as 'the Swan of Catania' due to his passion for composing long-flowing melodic lines. Best remebered as a composer of opera Bellini's best known works include: II Puritani (opera seria), Il Pirata (opera in two acts), La Sonnambula (opera semi-seria), La Straniera (opera in two acts), Norma (lyric tragedy) and Zaira (lyric traged).
