AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Containing the music of the melodies as sung by this favourite troupe, and other popular pieces' (cover), Weston and Hussey Minstrels Book of Songs No 2 was published in late August or early September 1869, around three months after the troupe had made its Australian debut at Melbourne's St George's Hall (renamed Weston's Opera House for the occasion). The first volume had been made public in late June.

Notes

  • In addition to the two Song Book volumes, Clarson, Massina and Company also published a special Weston and Hussey song book (lyrics only) in 1869 as part of its Australian Melodist series.
