BiographyHistory

Charles Panrucker Viner (stage-name Charles Vincent) began his theatrical career in England and France prior to arriving in Australia with his wife, also an actor. The couple first appeared on the Melbourne stage on 27 February 1864 and later toured Sydney, Adelaide and New Zealand before returning to Melbourne in 1866. From January 1866 until his death in 1868, Viner was the stage manager of Melbourne's Princess Theatre. In the final few months of his life, Viner was also the nominal lessee of the Royal Theatre.
