BiographyHistory

Rachel Perks is a Melbourne-based queer non-binary performer and theatre maker. They had work performed at staged readings in conjunction with ORGI, VCA Block Party and The Traverse Theatre Edinburgh. Perks graduated from the Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Acting) at the VCA in 2013.

In 2017, Perks took part in 'The Next Stage' at Dublin Theatre Festival. In 2018, they undertook a mentorship with Sibyl Kempson, Erin Merkey, and Tina Satter in New York City, investigating 'downtown dramaturgy'. They have also had a long-term creative partnership with Bridget Balodis, which has produced work such as Angry Sexx and Moral Panic.

They were the inaugural winner of Malthouse Theatre's Playwriting Innovation Award, developing with Malthouse a play called An Exhaustive Treatise on Queer Desire.
