Described as a prize-winning radio play based on the life of William Farrer, Golden Legacy was adapted for film as Strong Is the Seed.

The prize that the script is said to have won has not been traced thus far, and neither have any contemporary radio broadcasts of the play.

Described in contemporary reviews as a 'risque farce about ultra-urban people'.

The reviewer criticised the 'worn plot', saying that it 'exploiting every known device and situation of the lighter stage without adding in any way to them', but said that the script 'offered a good deal of verbal wit'.
