BiographyHistory

Thomas Gray was the assistant secretary to the British Board of Trade. He wrote a pamphlet titled The Rule of the Road (1867) comprising mnemonic verses to regulate steering for vessels meeting at sea. Samples of these verses were published in Australian colonial newspapers and magazines in the nineteenth century.
