'The Prompter' wrote a column for the Australasian informing colonial readers of 'the whereabouts and the doings of theatrical people who have at one time or another been sojourning amongst us, and whose names are familiar to all theatregoers'. 'The Prompter', in his first column, promises to do his best 'to keep old acquaintances well before [the Australasian's] readers'.
