BiographyHistory

Patyegarang, was a young Indigenous woman who had befriended Lieutenant William Dawes and taught each other their first languages. Dawes had recorded extensive records of an Indigenous language, including conversations that he had had with Patyegarang. (Source: My Place for Teachers website)
