More than one adaptation of L'Auberge des Adréts was created for the English stage. These include the following: Charles Selby (1835), C. Simpson and J. P. Simpson (1867) and Henry James Byron (1870).
The production at the Varieties in December 1868 is advertised as 'never before produced in the colonies' so it is not the Selby adaptation. It may be the one written by C. Simpson and J. P. Simpson, but this has not yet been verified.
Performed at Clark's Varieties and People's Theatre, Sydney, 5 and 7 December 1868.
