  • At head of title: 'Delivered at the Festival given by the surviving Officers and men of the Corcoran Legion, in Jones Wood, July 29, 1868, for the purpose for organising to build a Monument in Central Park [New York City] to the officers and Soldiers of the Legion who died on the field of Honour.'

    (The so-called 'Corcoran Legion' was raised in New York City in 1862 and largely comprised Irish immigrants.)
