Notes

  • The by-line reads 'By ARTHUR WRIGHT, author of the Film of the same name'.
  • The short story has a World War I framing narrative, as 'There was a little gathering of the Sharpe family, this Sunday afternoon, for young Tom Sharpe, who was on the eve of departing to join his fellow Australians at the front, was visiting his home for the last time.'
  • Some sources suggest that the film is an adaptation of the story, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
