  • This issue of the Freeman's Journal also includes:

    • a short report headed 'Entertainments'. The 'entertainments' available in Sydney during the previous week include a production of Watts Phillips's Nobody's Child at the Prince of Wales Opera House, and a seance with Dr Carr at the Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts. The column also notes a 'Promenade Concert' to be held on 14 March 1868 in the Hyde Park Pavilion. (p. 2). (An advertisement for the concert appears on p. 15.)
    • a detailed report headed 'Attempted Assassination of the Duke of Edinburgh, at Middle Harbour' (p. 9)
