BiographyHistory

Adelaide based author, designer, illustrator and publisher Linda Brooks writes in the areas of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and children's (as both author and illustrator). Her writing career came about after her humorous short stories (as 'Cobaltangel') found critical acclaim on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's (ABC) website The Making of Modern Australia. This led to her first publication, the memoir A Curious and Inelegant Childhood (2009). She has since written two more non-fiction works I’m Not Broken, I’m Just Different and Wings to Fly (nonfiction narratives of living with Asperger’s syndrome, with sections by Professor Tony Attwood), a collection of poetry (A Winding Road), and several works of fiction.

Brooks' work has also been published in various anthologies, notably Coastlines (Southern Cross University), Wood, Bricks and Stone (Catchfire Press) and Grieve (Hunter Writer’s Centre).
